The Four Seasons: Winter
Jeff Soto's oeuvre is informed by his concern for the conflict between humans and nature, and influenced by graffiti culture. It is fitting thus that Soto chose the Four Seasons as his exploration of the "Foursome" theme. His representations of the seasons as creatures suggest that not only do the changing seasons represent the cycles of life and the progression of our culture, but that they have lives and personalities of their own.
Winter is cold and frosty, but it's a season with holidays aplenty. The monster is cold and crisp, but joyful too in his surroundings that bring to mind snow and holly berries.
