The Four Vices: Horses
For hundreds of years, The Four Vices have been depicted in a myriad of art forms. These cuff links represent Gary Taxali's re-imagination of the traditional gentleman's vices of women, liquor, cards, and horses. Taxali, whose artistic style is reminiscent of a bygone era, treats this subject matter in a cheeky and refreshing way, presenting the vices with a modern twist. As Taxali says, "Like a good vice, cuff links never go out of style."
"I have ridden exactly twice in my life and had no idea of what I was doing. The horse knew it too." Perhaps a day at the racetrack seems old-fashioned now, but this vice in essence represents our fascination with modern sports. Not all of us can play football, but we certainly enjoy watching it!
